Things are looking up for the Canadian Dorey Racing Club in Lunenburg.
Earlier this month, the group put the call out to the community for some financial help to stay afloat and after airing their story, a local community business is stepping up.
Club Member, Lisa Tanner, says Mahone Bay based brewery, The Salt Box, has offered to step up to the plate and lend them a hand.
“A little bit of a donor popped up after you shared our article on the radio, Andrew Tanner from the Salt Box in Mahone contacted us and he’s launching a new beer this week or next called ‘The Dorey Racer’,” says Tanner, adding, “he’s offered to give us 25 cents for every can that he sells this summer.”
Tanner says the assistance is very welcome and is hoping it will definitely give them that boost they were looking for.
The Lunenburg Fire Department will also be holding a 5Km Fun Run or Walk Fundraiser on June 1st, 2018 to help the group out.
