Some people may have rib withdrawl after a sticky and sweet weekend in Lunenburg County.
Events Lunenburg County hosted Ribfest in the LCLC parking lot.
Chair Joanne Cooper projects about 6,000 people turned up for ribs, pulled pork, chicken and other favourites from local vendors.
She says the event surpassed their expectations.
“Of course, we would always take more people to come out and enjoy these types of festivals. But again, as a first year and our first go, we were happy to reach the 6,000 mark.”
Cooper credits the nice weather for helping to create a successful event.
She says the committee hasn’t re-capped the weekend yet but she feels the community would welcome Ribfest back with open arms.
