A parking ban is in place for Empire Street in Bridgewater during Saturday’s Christmas on the LaHave parade.
It stems from an incident over the summer during the South Shore Exhibition parade.
A fire department truck was responding to an alarm when it became stuck because of vehicles parked on both sides of Empire Street.
Police Chief John Collyer says people should prepare to arrive early.
“I understand why people like to watch the parade from their vehicles, but it is an outdoor event, it does get you in the spirit of things for Christmas. It being cold is part of it.”
There will also be barricades on side streets.
It begins at 6 p.m. Saturday.
The route starts on High Street, goes down Empire to King Street and moves across King and finishes on Dufferin Street.
