Garber Resigns From School Board Due To Health Reasons

A regretful but necessary decision by Elmer Garber.

The South Shore Regional School Board member has resigned due to health reasons.

Garber served three years on the board including one as chair and another as vice-chair.

He says it’s disappointing.

“Being a school board member is an important function in the community, certainly providing education to children and grand-children is very high on my list.”

Garber’s seat on the board is now vacant.

The education minister is expected to appoint someone to the seat until next fall’s school board election.
