Schools are using spin-bikes to help students learn.
As of this year there’s at least one in every school in the South Shore.
Hebville Academy used a grant to put a bike in every classroom in their school.
Grade two teacher, Krista McDow, says the effect has been huge
“For students with an inability to deal with frustration,” she says, “or any type of emotion or attention difficulties that they’re having, it’s just a really socially acceptable way to deal with it.”
McDow says she’d like to see every classroom in the region using the bikes.
But, at $700 dollars a piece she knows it will take time.
