Lunenburg Town Council is whole once again.
After winning the recent by-election, Matt Risser was sworn in at the council meeting last night.
A short recess was called after he took his oath to allow family, friends and council members to wish Risser well.
Risser feels honoured to be in his new position.
“I’m humbled by the support the community has shown for me. I’m eager to get started and tonight was a great start I think. I’m looking forward to working with everyone to make Lunenburg an even better place than it already is.”
Once the proceedings resumed, Risser jumped in, asking several questions as council made their way through the agenda.
Risser says once he settles in, he would love to see a governance review of the town.
“I used to do a lot of work with different organizations. They would bring us in and we would review their governance, their committee structures, their policies, that kind of thing, and look for improvements.”
Risser expects it will be a steep learning curve, but is confident he will be quick to get up to speed.
