VIDEO: Cross Canada Trip Concludes for NOW Lunenburg County

Canada got a glimpse of what it’s like to live, work and play in Lunenburg County.

Tina Hennigar with NOW Lunenburg County recently returned from her 36-day cross-country tour trying to recruit people to this area.

The population growth coordinator traveled more than 12,000 kilometres to visit several provinces and talking with thousands of people.

Hennigar says she’ll be looking for input when she tours local communities with the Boler trailer in October.

“It’s been documented what we’ve been doing on tour because still there is lots of confusion, like what actually did I do? We’ll be sharing that and engaging the community to help us with the next steps.”

She says at last count some 300 families filled out surveys asking for more information about life in Lunenburg County.

“And how to create a life in Lunenburg County, real estate, job opportunities and are there businesses to buy? 300 families who are looking at Lunenburg County a little more closely. I think that is a success.”

Hennigar plans to connect with those families to explore opportunities and determine if their interests line up with this region.
