Coming Together: Riverbank Project Progressing On Schedule

The Take Back the Riverbank Project in Bridgewater is right on schedule.

Most of the underground sewer work is now complete.

Communications Coordinator Patrick Hirtle says people will now start to see things coming back together.

“We’ve been fortunate,” he says, “As difficult as it has been having dry weather this summer, that has helped us from a construction stand point. Obviously the crews have built in days for when we have rain we can’t do too much on site. So, we’ve been taking advantage of dry weather that way.”

Hirtle says work on sidewalks and curbs is set to begin this week with the last of the water main work planned for the end of August.

He knows this hasn’t been an easy time for business owners on the street.

“At the same time they recognize that we’re getting to a point know where things are starting to come together and we can start seeing the end product materialize.”

He says they hope to have traffic flow back to normal on King Street by the end of October.
