Intimate Images Discussion Coming To Bridgewater

Sharing intimate images is the topic of a discussion being held in Bridgewater later this month.

Stacey Godsoe with the host organization, Be the Peace Institute says the talks aim to help parents understand why kids decide to send an intimate image and why they then decide to share it.

“And what are the supports available to kids, what’s the best approach to talk to them? I think that’s the most challenging aspect of it.”

Godsoe says they’re aiming to provide parents information on how to talk to kids about the new digital landscape.

“We’re all sort of trying to catch up. The social media platforms are changing all the time. And kid’s ability to get online and [from] anywhere, is definitely part of the issue.”

This is the second in a series of talks hosted by Be the Peace Institute in partnership with Second Story Womens Centre, the Town of Bridgewater and The South Shore Regional Centre for Education.

The event takes place June 14 at the Bridgewater Fire Hall beginning at 6:30pm.
