Bridgewater Rally To Protest Kinder Morgan Pipeline Buyout

Roughly 80 protests are set to take place across the country today, including in Bridgewater.

The rallies are in protest of the Federal Government’s decision to purchase the Trans Mountain Pipeline from Kinder Morgan at cost of $4.5 Billion dollars.

Marion Moore, Co-Chair of the South Shore Chapter of the Council of Canadian , says they’re not happy about that decision.

“We don’t approve of this, we don’t believe that this action is in keeping with the promises that this government made during the 2015 election,” says Moore. “It’ll just be a simple rally, but we needed the opportunity to express our outrage at what our Federal Government has done; we think our government and our MP’s need to hear that this project does not have our support.”

Today’s rally is one of many set to take place across Canada today.

The rally takes place outside the Bridgewater Constituency Office of MP Bernadette Jordan (129 Aberdeen Road, Suite 106) starting at 12pm.
