Lunenburg County Parent Driven To Help, One Bottle at a Time

For one Lunenburg County parent, it’s all about giving back.

Melissa Cook is working to raise a few dollars to help offset some costs to send primary students at West Northfield Elementary School on their end of year trip to the Annapolis Valley.

The mother of two boys has stepped up to try and help offset the costs of the bus, admission and lunch for the kids by accepting and collecting donations of recyclable bottles and cans.

“Just helping with their bus funding and with costs for admissions to the zoo and for their meals and what not,” says Cook. “It’s the end of year field trip that most grades do; the fundraising is definitely needed, I remember the class trip like it was yesterday.”

Cook, also a former student of the school, says she wanted to help pay it forward while giving back at the same time.

To donate your recyclable cans or bottles and help the primary students go on their trip to the valley this year, please contact:
