Local Fundraisers Still Looking For Donations

The province is cutting it’s collection of donations for Syrian refugees short.

The department of Immigration says they have more than they need to provide for the incoming families.

But, you can still donate to local fundraisers in the South Shore.

Robert Boudreau, from St. Vincent de Paul in Bridgewater, says the generosity has been overwhelming but they want to help as many people as possible.

“Since we help other people in need within the area of Lunenburg County,” he says, “some of it can go to them as well.”

Boudreau says there’s still a need for warm winter clothing.

He adds they’re also happy to receive cash if you don’t have anything to give away.

Most donated items are being stored at the Bridgewater Memorial Arena.

He says if anyone has a warm storage space where they can keep more delicate donations that would be helpful.
