Lunenburg Woman Raises $28,000 for National Kids Cancer Ride

A woman from Lunenburg is pedalling her way across the country for a cause close to her heart.
Fiona Steele is raising funds while on the National Kids Cancer Ride.
She says she’s seen first hand how donations to the cause have affected kids with cancer.
“There was one young lady who was 14 and stood up in front of us in an auditorium. The first thing she said to us was, I need you to all know that the money you raised, and the money you donated to Cancer Care Manitoba went to fund a drug trial treatment program that she was on. She wouldn’t have been alive today because of it,” says Steele.
Steele got involved with the event after her son passed away from Acute Lymphobasic Leukemia in 2014.
To date she has a little over $28, 000.
