Lunenburgers will have the movies come to them this weekend.
The fourth annual Lunenburg Doc Fest gets underway Thursday.
This year they will feature the premieres of eight different films.
Over four days, festival goers will have the opportunity to see several films and meet some of the artists who created them.
Executive Director Pamela Segger says the festival features international filmmakers, but it also showcases projects developed here at home.
“We want to support and be part of the industry here as well. Not just to showcase the end result, but hopefully to contribute in some small way to the art and the business of documentary making here in the province.”
Segger says the festival appeals to a wide range of interests.
She’s particularly excited about their “step into the story” interactive arcade.
“Virtual reality, sometimes, you can be literally plunked right into the story. And that’s the experience and the interaction that we want to present for people to try.”
