It may only be the beginning of the school year but RCMP are reminding drivers to slow down.
Cpl. Jennifer Clarke with NS RCMP says motorists need to stay aware of their speed in school zones.
“If children are present – and that’s certainly open to interpretation but if you can see children, you need to slow down,” says Clarke.
Motorists are required to reduce their speed to 30km when children are in the vicinity.
The fine for a first time offense ranges from 300 to 697 dollars.
