Grad Students To See South Shore Success Stories First Hand

Several South Shore enterprises will be getting their first look at the next crop of business graduates.

The Sobey School Of Business at Saint Mary’s University will be bringing 22 students to see the possibilities that exist when they travel outside of Halifax.

Lynn Coveyduck from Saint Mary’s says it’s a great opportunity for business owners and students alike.

“A lot of them of course, when they’re living in Halifax, don’t think about any opportunities outside the city. And so we started thinking about where are some areas of the province that are doing some really neat things.”

Businesses from Michelin and Stelia to Mashup Labs and Necktronics will showcase themselves and find out more about the future graduates.

Coveyduck says they’ve done this sort of tour in Halifax and Toronto and were looking to expand.

“We thought, you know what? It’s also important that we expose students to other opportunities in the rest of the province. So we chose the South Shore as our first place to give it a whirl.”

The tour will take place Friday and will include a community reception at Wile’s Lake Farm Market from 5:30pm – 7:30pm.
