The department of Transportation has set up a detour around Martins Brook Bridge on Trunk 3.
The route goes from Foxburg road to Northwest Road and onto Schnares Road.
A spokesperson says damage from last years harsh winter is forcing them replace the bridge two years early.
He says the bridge was safe to use during the summer, but winter conditions created too much risk.
Drivers are encouraged to allow for extra time during their commute.
Construction is expected to be complete by February 19th.
