More people in the South Shore are getting physically active.
A study shows since 2003 about 10% more people report spending at least 30 minutes a day exercising.
Active Living spokesperson, Debby Smith says communities have been making it easier to get moving.
“Safe crosswalks, safe trails,” she says, “intriguing trails that, you know, just beg us to take walk and hikes and bike.”
Smith says there’s still a long way to go.
But, she adds the slow and steady progress is encouraging.
