Chester, MODL Continue To Share Animal Control Services

Two local municipalities are continuing to share animal control services.

Chester has been providing the service to the Municipality of Lunenburg for the past three years.

Chester is re-negotiating a contract with its supplier and need a one month extension to get the agreement in place.

Deputy CAO of the Municpality of Lunenburg, Alex Dumaresq explains why Chester is providing the service.

“Shared services are becoming increasingly common across the province as a way for municipalities to maintain service levels and reduce costs.”

The one month extension will cost around $2,700.
