Bridgewater is using the Memorial Arena to store donations for Syrian refugees.
At least two families are coming to the area.
The Bridgewater & Area and St. Joseph’s Syrian Refugee Committees are both collecting donations.
Mayor David Walker says the arena is a useful space to keep donations.
“It’s a vacant building right now and having it used for something like this makes a lot of sense for the refugee initiative and fills a need that we’re able to do.”
Hours of operation at the arena have yet to be determined.
However, people can drop off or mail donations to two locations, for now.
