Chester: Proposed Inn Headed To Public Hearing

Progress for a proposed inn in Chester.

The eight-room building and restaurant is planned for Duke and Water Streets.

Council has agreed to send the idea to public hearing for discussion.

Warden Allen Webber says it could bolster the village.

“There aren’t very many places where you can stay overnight in the municipality of Chester and yet, we get an awful lot of people who come here to visit in the summer months, in particular.”

The properties need to be re-zoned for commercial use, instead of residential.

The public hearing will be held in January.
