South Shore tourism is on the rise.
Ten communities came together last year to create a team that would promote the region as a whole.
They say room rentals in places like hotels and B&B’s went up 2% last June and 5% in July compared to 2014.
Marianne Gates, the representative for Chester, says it made sense to combine resources with other communities.
“Most people travel regionally,” she says. “So, you don’t usually just come to one community, you would go to several communities within the South Shore.”
The team has around 7-thousand dollars of funding left over.
Gates says they plan to spend the surplus on photos for next year’s campaign.
