The Region of Queens is in preliminary discussions with a potential new owner of the former school in Mill Village.
An expression of interest closed late last month on Mill Village Consolidated.
Mayor Christopher Clarke offered no further comment.
The Region assumed responsibility of the school after it closed in 2014.
It served the community for 52 years.
The school, along with over five acres of land, has been appraised at $45,000.
