Electronic voting is on hold for the time-being in the Town of Lunenburg.
Mayor Rachel Bailey says the Union of Nova Scotia Municipalities is working with all members to implement e-voting with HRM leading the initiative.
“With the objectives of getting it at a good price for all the participating municipalities. But also for moral support and technical support reasons, that made a lot of sense,” said Bailey.
The mayor said she is conscious of the cost of running both traditional and e-voting systems at the same time.
She’d like to wait and tap into Halifax’s past experience with the system and will ask for advice before taking the leap.
