Bridgewater Man Killed in Motorcycle Deer Collision

A Bridgewater man has died after his motorcycle collided with a deer Sunday afternoon in Queens County.

RCMP Corporal, Dal Hutchinson, says police received a 911 call following a motorcycle and deer collision on Highway 208 near Franks Lake, about 50 kms north of Liverpool, NS.

The man, a 54-year-old male from Bridgewater, was airlifted to QEII Hospital in Halifax via EHS LifeFlight, where he eventually succumbed to his injuries late Sunday night.

“Unfortunately he passed away later on last evening,” says Cpl. Hutchinson, adding, “we ask other motorists to just be aware of motorcycles, take that extra time to look before you pull out onto our roads.”

Police closed a portion of Highway 208 at Frank Lake, and re-routed traffic for several hours while they investigated.

The name of the deceased has not been released.

This past weekend saw a total of three motorcycle fatalities on Provincial Roads and Highways.
