Provincial Swimming Championships: 8 Straight for Bridgewater Barracudas

The Bridgewater Barracudas’ amazing streak continues.

The ‘Cudas clinched their eighth straight Provincial Swimming Championship this weekend in Bedford.

The locals finished 64 points ahead of the host Beavers team and 67 points ahead of Cole Harbour.

18-year-old Mariah Kelley led the way for Bridgewater, earning 7 gold medals and tying for high point female with 250 points.

But she’s not the only one.

Two other Barracudas also managed to set records over the weekend.

Travis Smith set a record in the 50m Breaststroke with a time of 34.94

Swimmer Sarah Johnson set a 50m Backstroke record for the 13-14 year old girls coming in at 34.50

The Bridgewater Barracudas call the O’Regan’s Subaru Open Air Pool on Jubilee Road their home.
