Bridgewater Mayor Offers Residents Insight Into Paving Projects

Bridgewater’s mayor is taking to social media to answer residents concerns around roads.

David Mitchell says people ask him everything from why the roads are so bad, to why is one road being paved but not another.

He wants to put the facts in resident’s hands so they’re informed about why a decision is made.

“It’s important for me that people understand we all kind of want the same things. We would love all our roads to be paved, if we use this example. We’re working towards that, but here’s the information so you know why we can’t do it.”

He says most people are very reasonable when you take the time to spell out why a decision was made.

“People are kind of like, oh, ok I get it. Now I can move on, this isn’t going to bother me anymore and it just makes for a happier community, I think.”
