Elderdog Memorial Butterfly Release Goes On Saturday

A colourful tribute will be made Saturday to man’s best friend.

ElderDog Canada will hold its fourth Annual Butterfly Release Saturday on Feltzen South Peninsula.

One hundred butterflies will be released in honour of people’s canine companions.

Ardra Cole is with Elderdog Canada, an organization that matches senior dogs with senior citizens.

She’s says the butterfly release is an appropriate memorial.

“Butterflies live a short life and they’re quite beautiful. And butterflies are symbolic in many ways.”

Cole says, “Even though any of our loved ones, but dogs in particular, are no longer with us, like butterflies their lives continue in various forms.”

A concert will be held at 1:30 followed by the memorial butterfly release at 3:00.
