David Devenne Elected As Next Mahone Bay Mayor

It will be David Devenne who will lead the Town of Mahone Bay for the next four years.

He won the mayoral race with 254 votes, 77 more than fellow candidate Kelly Wilson.

Devenne says people have spoken.

“A little bit more than 50 percent turnout for the voters in Mahone Bay and I am indeed humbled they have decided to make me their mayor for the next four years.”

Devenne will replace Joe Feeney, who served as mayor for 26 years before he decided not to re-offer.

Wilson, who served one term on council, has decided to retire.

The six councillors in Mahone Bay were all acclaimed.
