University Lectures Come To South Shore Libraries

A new library program means anyone who wants to can head back to school this fall.

South Shore Public Libraries has teamed up with St. Mary’s University to bring two different lecture series a little closer to home.

Jeff Mercer Deputy Chief Librarian says they want to make education more accessible.

“St. Mary’s and other universities have a lot of interesting things going on and it’s not always easy to take part, but if we can provide that for people, I think that’s great,” he says. “These are just the start I think and they both sound super interesting to me. So, I’d love to see more of this stuff.”

One class will focus on the country of Brazil the other on the sociology of cities.

They start on September 7th and 8th in Bridgewater, Lunenburg, and Liverpool.
