Help is on the way for people in Cape Breton who’ve lost everything due to the floods last week.
A new provincial program is offering up to $200,000 per home to those who are most in need.
Those who are approved for the money won’t need to pay it back, but they will need to keep track of receipts and take pictures of the damage.
The province is currently estimating the damage at more than $10-million dollars.
However, they say that is just a preliminary number that is likely to change in the coming days and weeks.
Homeowners, small businesses, farmers and not-for-profit organizations are all eligible to apply for the funding.
Applications for the Disaster Financial Assistance Program opened yesterday.
