Chester Basin House Fire Sends Two To Hospital

Two people were hospitalized after a fire gutted their Chester Basin home Tuesday night.

According to a release from the Canadian Red Cross, a man has been released from South Shore Regional Hospital after being treated for smoke inhalation.

They are providing the man with aid in purchasing clothing and other support.

Meanwhile, a woman was transferred to hospital in Halifax and Red Cross will also offer her support if needed.

The Red Cross says an insurance claim has been started.

The fire was reported near midnight September 25 on Croft Road.

Chester Basin, Western Shore, Martin’s River, New Ross, Blandford, and Chester volunteer fire departments all responded to the blaze.
