The forest fire in Broad River, Queens County has grown to between four and six hectares.
It was around two hectares overnight.
Department of Natural Resources spokesperson, Bruce Nunn, says roughly two dozen DNR personnel are assisting firefighters from multiple departments.
A DNR helicopter is also dropping water on the fire, which started yesterday after 1 p.m.
Nunn says the fire is over 75 per cent contained and crews hope to have it fully contained early this afternoon.
The cause is still unknown and an investigation is pending.
A fire ban is in affect in Lunenburg and Queens counties.
