The provincial government says plans are in place to distribute provincial government correspondence and cheques in the case of a Canada Post job action.
In a news release, the province says anyone expecting a cheque are encouraged to contact the department issuing it to be sure it’s ready.
The Department of Community Services will assess the situation Monday to determine if client cheques will be sent to Community Services offices for client pick up.
The government is also reminding Nova Scotians they are responsible to meet any financial obligations they have to make payments to government.
In the case of a full strike, the public can use 13 Access Nova Scotia Centres to drop off and receive provincial correspondence.
