Cannabis sales at NSLC stores have some customers holding their noses.
Complaints have been made about the smell of pot wafting through the store.
NSLC Spokesperson Beverley Ware says they’ve examined the building ventilation system.
“As part of the renovations to the Bridgewater store and to the other stores that carry cannabis, we did ensure that the HVAC system is working properly in that area. But we will be looking at this, and monitoring this to see if there might be something we can do to address the situation.”
Ware says the source may be how one line of cannabis is packaged.
“With this particular product, there isn’t a seal under the cap, so when we receive deliveries of that product, there is an odour associated with it. And we do believe there’s also an odour that seems to be coming from some of the shipping cases that we’re receiving.”
Ware says the NSLC is working with suppliers to see if a solution can be found.
