Postal Workers Union Rejects Latest Offer

The Canadian Union of Postal Workers has rejected Canada Post’s latest offer in their labour dispute.

Last week, Canada Post issued what it called a “significant time-limited offer” to try and end rotating strikes, which are now entering their fifth week.

The union said the offer was a step in the right direction but did not address major issues like equality, as well as health and safety.

CUP-W has asked the federal labour minister to appoint a mediator to help the two sides reach an agreement.

Canada Post says the rotating strikes have created record backlogs which could significantly impact Canadians and the retail economy this holiday season.
