After five months, the Take Back the Riverbank project in Bridgewater is about to wrap up.
Underground infrastructure work is complete and crews are now working to grade and pave King street.
Remember, even though @TBTR2016 is getting near completion, it’s still an active work area. Drive slowly, obey signage, respect others.

King Street between Dominion and Dufferin Streets as well as the intersections on King Street at Dufferin and Old Bridge will be closed between 7am and 7pm until Wednesday.
Drivers can expect delays Wednesday to Friday at Dominion/High St intersections as crews resume work on infrastructure upgrades.

Patrick Hirtle with the Town of Bridgewater says it’s best to avoid the King Street area over the next couple of days unless you have business there.
“[They] started the grading process yesterday, they’re continuing with that today. That is essentially just building up the base for the street in preparation for paving. And as long as the weather cooperates, tomorrow (Wednesday) they plan to begin the paving process then.”
Hirtle says when the work is complete people will be pleased with the results.
“Really going back to when the curbing started to go in place, people could really get a feel for what the streetscape was going to look like and I think that folks started to get excited.”
Hirtle says King Street should be open to two way traffic by the end of the month.
