Premier Recognizes Olympians, Paralympians

Nova Scotia Paralympians and Olympians who competed in Rio were recognized today in Halifax.

The team of 16 athletes and four coaches were invited to a celebration at Province House.

One of those is Scott Lutes of Mahone Bay, who won a bronze medal in the Paralympics with Paul Tingley and Logan Campbell in sonar sailing.

Chester’s Graeme and Jacob Saunders competed in the Olympics in the men’s 470 sailing class – finishing outside the top 20 in their first games.

Premier Stephen McNeil thanked the athletes for their efforts in Rio and says they inspire people to try harder, be better and push further.
