*Since the story was written, CKBW news has learned five (5) teens were involved in the attack.
A student was sent to hospital this week following an assault near Forest Heights school.
Four girls, two 14-year-olds and two 17-year-olds have all been charged with Assault Causing Bodily Harm for the December 6th attack in Chester Grant.
Executive Director of the South Shore Regional Centre For Education Scott Milner says the four girls have been suspended.
“I’m under the understanding that the principal, currently, is developing a return to school plan and a restorative plan to try to resolve the conflict and address the harm that possibly could’ve been done to people.”
Milner says the school needs a plan in place for when the students return.
“Forest Heights isn’t a huge school so it’s impossible to keep them separate. So the return to school plan is really important in that any conflict or misunderstanding that initiated this type of action – we’ve got to clear that up so it doesn’t happen again.”
The accused girls have been released from custody.
They are scheduled to appear February 13 in Bridgewater Provincial Court.
