Teen girls in Lunenburg County will soon get mentorship under a new program.
Shelley Skinner was the winner of the Awesome Foundation’ of the South Shore ‘s monthly prize of $1,000.
Her new program – Be Amazing; Girls Realizing their Unlimited Potential, is aimed at bringing young teen girls together with female mentors.
Skinner says the weekly meetings are meant to show girls strong, confident female role models and open them up to new skills and activities.
The cash will be used to purchase supplies for some of the activities.
Applications are now being accepted for next month’s pitches.
