Liverpool is officially one of the friendliest places in Canada.
The list, recently put out by Expedia, ranks the town 13th out of 25.
Local business owner Susan Lane says people in Queens are very welcoming.
“So, they do go out of their way to help people if they look lost,” she says. “They strike up a conversation, very friendly–not creepy, but very friendly”
Lane says she has personally seen people take the extra time to be kind to strangers.
She adds being recognized by such a well known source can only be helpful in trying to draw visitors to the area.
“It’s definitely a feather in our cap.”
The article points to cultural and historical attractions as other reasons to make the trip.
Lane says it’s unlikely the town will be campaigning to make the list again next year.
She says it’s probably best if it just happens naturally like it did this time.
