High School Hockey Players Recognized During VHSHL Banquet

Local high school hockey players were recognized this week for their exceptional play.

The Valley High School Hockey League held its annual year-end banquet in Berwick Wednesday.

Marc Sabean of Park View and Cole Peters of West Kings shared the league’s player of the year award for their involvement in school and community.

Panthers forward Connor Goodick was named best player and points leader after notching 29 goals and 41 assists.

Grant Johnston of Park View was named coach of the year and Tyson Peters of Yarmouth was named goalie of the year.

The Art Lightfoot Memorial Trophy for Dedication and support of High School Hockey volunteer award was given to Tina Comeau-Surette of Yarmouth.

Team awards were also handed out during the banquet and are as follows:

Barrington:
MVP: Tanner Bateman. Coaches award: Jude Greenwood.

Clare:
MVPs: Braden Trimper and Maxime Hanna

Park View:
Coaches awards: Zack Gladwin and Tyler Mason

Par-en-Bas:
MVP: Miguel d’Eon. Coaches award: Zach D’Arcy

Yarmouth:
Coaches awards: Spencer Surette and Nolan MacDonald
