A successful daffodil campaign for the Canadian Cancer Society in the South Shore.
Development Officer, Jo-Ann Mead, says volunteers were able to sell all their flowers between April 11 and 13.
She says that represents about 300 bunches in Lunenburg County and 400 bunches in Queens.
Mead says the daffodil is a symbol of the society.
“The flower is one of the first flowers of the Spring and it’s very resilient. We feel it represents people living with cancer; it’s a symbol of strength, courage and life.”
Funds raised go towards cancer research and supporting those affected by the disease.
Mead says if anyone didn’t get a flower, they can go online and buy a virtual daffodil until Tuesday.
