Bailey says arts and culture are a big part of the community and provincial economy.
“They also generate a quality of life that is extremely important to the future growth and sustainability of the community.”
The Lunenburg Academy of Music Performance nominated the town for the award.
She says being recognized for the amount of arts and culture in the community speaks highly of what the town has to offer.
A certificate and $10,000 was awarded to the town.
The certificate will be hung at town hall while the $10,000 will go back to arts and culture programming in Lunenburg.
