Osprey Ridge Organizing Hit it For Health Golf Tournament

A traditional event hosted by the Health Services Foundation of the South Shore is changing hands.

The Foundation organized the ‘Hit It For Health’ golf fundraiser for 20 years before choosing to make 2018 their last one.

But, Osprey Ridge Golf Club has chosen to keep marching forward and is organizing the event for July 3.

General Manager Jason Walmark says proceeds will continue to support the Health Services Foundation.

“I know a lot of people aren’t necessarily thinking about golf given the recent bad weather. However, it is such a great cause and it is supporting local so we really want people to support us and come on out.”

Walmark says they are roughly half way to their desired amount of teams with registration time soon running out.

He says they jumped at the opportunity to keep the event alive.

“We felt at Osprey Ridge that we wanted to continue the tradition of donating funds so we wanted to take it upon ourselves to continue it and we’re looking forward to it.”

The four-person team event costs $600 and includes the round of golf, lunch, supper and chances to win many prizes.
