Bridgewater Police: Woman Faces Charges Following Threat, Driving Complaint

A woman faces charges after threatening to shoot people following a driving complaint in Bridgewater.

Police received multiple calls Tuesday afternoon that a blue Honda Civic was driving aggressively on Marie Avenue.

Two women got into a confrontation with residents and threatened to get a firearm and shoot them but drove away once police sirens could be heard.

Bridgewater Police and RCMP stopped the vehicle on William Hebb Road in Hebbville and both women were arrested.

Deputy Chief Danny MacPhee says a warrant to search the vehicle was obtained and no firearm was located.

“We have subsequently released one of the females with no charges at this time and released the other female with charges for uttering threats and multiple Motor Vehicle Act offences.”

The woman will appear in Bridgewater court August 7.

MacPhee says there was no immediate threat to the public.

“The main danger would’ve been the driving originally. Now, if a firearm was retrieved and brandished there would’ve been a heightened level of danger but we arrived before any of that could’ve possibly happened.”
