Bridgewater Updating Active Transportation Plan

Bridgewater residents are being asked how the town can help them become more active.

Staff are in the process of updating the 2008 active transportation plan.

Planner Mackenzie Childs says depending on what the public suggests, the town could make adjustments to infrastructure, change policy or work to actively promote a healthy lifestyle.

“We want to hear what’s working now, where people are walking or cycling, where they would like to, what isn’t working and what the town can do to make it easier for people to move around more.”

Childs says in addition to a survey and public meetings, the town has an online map for residents to note what could be changed.

“Just open it up on your phone or your computer. But when you’re walking around, if you think of something, you bump into something you realize is an issue or something that’s really positive, you can mark it on a map.”

The first public meeting is being held at the Lunenburg County Lifestyle Centre tonight beginning at 6:00pm.
