Nova Scotia Increases Medal Haul at Canada Winter Games

Nova Scotia has added two more medals to its total at the Canada Winter Games in Red Deer, Alberta.

Both came in the boxing ring.

Alex Bulgaru of Halifax was defeated by Quebec’s Sammy Morisset in the 64 kilogram gold medal bout, earning the province’s first silver of the games.

Matt Ross of New Waterford defeated British Columbia’s Dylan Clark in the 69 kilogram bronze medal match.

Earlier this week, Vincent d’Entremont of Hebbville help the men’s gymnastics team win bronze in the team event.

Nova Scotia has three medals and sits sixth in the standings.

Quebec leads the way with 43 medals.

The games continue until March 3.
