A listener wrote this email to us:
After several years of trying I’ve finally conceived and was over the moon with excitement about the coming baby but my husband has disappointed me with his attitude. You see, he’s a typical South Shore manly man into all kinds of sports, cars, trucks, and hunting and fishing and he’s adamant that he wants a boy and only a boy will do. He even told me in front of our friends that he will be devastated if our child isn’t a boy. Our baby’s gender doesn’t matter to me, I just want a healthy baby. We find out the child’s gender next month and I don’t know how to prepare for his reaction or if I even want to know at this point. What should I say to him if it’s a girl and he starts moaning about it?
