RCMP Remind Drivers to Lock Vehicle Doors

Lunenburg County RCMP are reminding those heading into the communities to lock their car doors.

As the weather gets warmer, more people are walking around at all times of the day, some of which may be looking for something to nab from an unexpectedly unlocked car.

Constable Sonia Upshaw, Community Policing Officer, says people heading out for the day should try to leave valuables at home, or keep them out of sight and locked up.

“The weather is getting really nice and people are walking around at different hours. If they walk by your vehicle and see some interesting items, they may have more tendency to break into your vehicle.”

Upshaw says popular items that are stolen include phones, computers, purses and bags, and money.
